Who we are

Honest Mortgage Company, LLC (“Honest Mortgage,” “we,” “us”) is an independent mortgage broker, NMLS #1731558, based at 7077 Fieldcrest Drive, Suite 300, Brighton, MI 48116. This policy applies to this website.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly and some information automatically.

• Information you provide. The site has three forms, and each collects only what you type into it:
  • Get Started: your goal and situation, property type, credit range, any figures you choose to share (such as home price, down payment, home value, loan balance, current rate, cash-out amount, income, monthly debts and savings), your name, email, phone number, state and notes, and, if you came to the form from one of our advisors’ pages, which advisor.
  • Refer a client: your name, company, email and phone number, your client’s name and contact details, and any notes.
  • Careers: your name, email, phone number, NMLS ID, current company and message.
  Each form also records whether you ticked its consent box, with the wording you agreed to, and how you found our site on that visit (for example a Google search or a link from another site) and the first page you saw.
• Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: which pages are visited, how visitors arrived (for example from a search or another site), the type of device and browser, approximate location (to the city), and actions such as clicking a link, using a calculator, or reaching each step of a form and sending it. For a form, it learns only which kind of help you picked (for example buying or refinancing), never your name, contact details, figures or answers. Like any website, our hosting provider also receives standard technical data, such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, in order to serve the site.

How we use your information

• To prepare and process a mortgage application and connect you with a licensed advisor
• To improve our website and understand how it is used
• To send you information you have asked for or agreed to receive
• To meet legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services, including with:

• Service providers that help us run the site and our business:
  • Netlify hosts this site, processes and stores form submissions, and emails each submission to our team.
  • Google provides Google Analytics, which measures how the site is used (see Cookies below).
  • ARIVE, our loan origination platform, holds your application once you complete one.
  • Advantage Credit, our credit reporting agency, receives the information needed to pull your credit when you authorize it.
  • IMMAAG, Inc., our third-party compliance provider, may review loan files as part of our compliance program.
• Wholesale lenders and partners as part of shopping and processing your loan, with your knowledge
• Regulators and authorities, including the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS), to which we report loan activity in our required quarterly and annual filings, and others where required by law or to protect our rights

Cookies, browser storage and third-party content

The only cookies our pages set are Google Analytics’ own. We don’t use advertising trackers, and we don’t use analytics data for advertising.

• Google Analytics sets cookies (named “_ga” and “_ga_” followed by an ID)ldquo;_ga(named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID)rdquo; and (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID)ldquo;_ga_(named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID)rdquo; followed by an ID) that tell repeat visits apart from new ones. They last up to two years. Google uses your IP address to estimate your general location and doesn’t store it in Analytics. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. To opt out, block cookies in your browser’s settings or install Google’s opt-out add-on; the site works the same either way.
• Each visit notes how you arrived and the first page you saw, in this browser tab only (session storage), so a form you send can include it. It’s cleared when you close the tab.
• Get Started keeps your answers for this browser tab only (session storage), so going back a step doesn’t lose them. They’re cleared when you submit or close the tab, and they never leave your device until you submit.
• Fonts and reviews load from Google. Pages load their typeface from Google Fonts, and our Google reviews show reviewers’ profile photos served by Google. When those load, Google receives your IP address and browser details under its own privacy policy.
• Links to other sites, such as Google Maps, our Google reviews, NMLS Consumer Access and the home-value tool on our Resources page, follow those sites’ own privacy policies.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as we need it to serve you and for as long as federal and state law requires. Mortgage application records must be kept for set periods under lending and licensing rules, so we can’t delete them on request before those periods end. Website inquiries that don’t become an application stay in our hosting provider’s form storage until we delete them, and our hosting provider’s logs record each submission’s routing, including the name given. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months, then deleted.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
